Westward Prep

Oh what a good feeling it is to sleep on an actual bed. After all of us lugged our thermarests in we rejoiced when it finally sank in that we would not be sleeping on the cold group. Pancakes were again on the menu for our morning and this is something none of us have a problem with. Especially when Emily sneaks some apples in them. Although the delicious French-Canadian raspberry jam we have to put o top is slowly disappearing and it is almost good enough to drive back up north and pick up some more. I savored every bite knowing that today was going to be task filled and needed focus. After being in Canada for 28 days, it must have really liked us because we took a lot of it back with us. Because of this, our wild and crazy Friday was spend cleaning. Most of us have been running on very little sleep and had just poured our first cup of coffee when an angelic looking past ECOEE member showed up with a bag full of Monster and Red Bull. It was like seeing little kids in a candy shop. After one or two or three of those we had plenty of energy to power through as much as we could. I think my hands will smell like bleach water for the next few days now. Time flew by very fast and even though we made great progress, there is still more work to be d0ne. Even though days like today seem unexciting, they are important. This is bringing us one step closer to starting the western swing. Tomorrow brings Lodge and Libations and I cannot wait to share what we have learned and experienced as well as hear from those who have done it before us and may be a little older and wiser.
